What to Wear?
When preparing for your flight keep in mind that the coldest part of the experience will be at dawn. If you’re comfortable in shorts and a T-shirt at dawn, wear that! If you need a little more warmth, we suggest dressing in layers. We recommend the following:
Wear flat (closed toe) shoes
Dress in layers. The temperature can change drastically in the high desert. The coldest your whole adventure will be is when you leave your hotel or accommodations.
Gloves (any will do).
Pants (be mindful that you will be entering and exiting the gondola).
If you’re tall, we suggest a hat.
For our passengers with sensitive hearing, we recommend bringing hearing protection
Cameras are a great accessory to every outfit! Be sure to share you pictures with us on Instagram @fly_albuquerque or using the hashtag #flyalbquerque.
Don’t wear your favorite white blouse (ballooning is an outdoor sport).
Who Can Fly?
We encourage any and all potential passengers to fly with us! The flight is an hour long and you will be required to stand during that time. If special accommodations are required, please contact us 72 hours before your intended flight.
Please note that the minimum age of passengers is 5 years old.
What to expect
Plan on spending 3.5 – 4 Hours with us. The balloon ride takes about an hour but can be slightly shorter or longer based off of safe landing options. (HINT: Finding a bathroom aloft is impossible)
We have different sized balloons that can accommodate from 2 passengers to 16 passengers. If you book a “River Valley Flight” you might be with other passengers. You don’t want to ride with others? No problem! We can provide Private Flight options for your group.
We travel to different flight areas to provide you the safest and most scenic flights possible. Balloons float with the wind they don’t have a steering wheel or breaks. Our highly trained pilots will choose our launch sights daily.
